Omar is a nationally recognized trial lawyer with 28 years of courtroom experience.  He has tried over 50 state and federal cases to verdict and is an expert in the art of jury selection and closing argument. He has been named "One of the Best Lawyers in America" each year since 2012 and is consistently ranked within the Top Trial Lawyers in America.  His exceptional success in plaintiff cases has earned him a recognition as one of America’s Top 100 High Stakes Litigators and he has been inducted into the Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum.

Omar currently serves as the President of the Miami-Dade Trial Lawyers Association and has been named to the select Committee on Local Rules by Florida's chief federal judge. In addition, The National Institute of Trial Advocacy has invited Omar to teach jury-trial skills every year, for more than two decades.

At Thurgood Marshall School of Law, Omar was salutatorian of his graduating class and Editor-in-Chief of the law review. After law school, Omar worked as a judicial law clerk in Houston for United States District Judge Kenneth Hoyt.  After his clerkship, Omar returned home to New York City to practice in the litigation department at Skadden Arps.  Skadden quickly recognized his talent and assigned him to prepare a national case for trial as first chair.

Hungry for courtroom experience, Omar joined the Miami Federal Public Defender's Office, viewed as one of the top three in the nation.  There, Omar honed his trial skills, particularly his jury rapport in voir dire (selection) and closing argument. He rose to Deputy Chief and became one of the most feared and sought-after criminal defense lawyers in town, beloved by the bench and his clients.

During their time in public service, Omar (as defense lawyer) and Mike (as federal prosecutor) faced off many a time, with results still the subject of debate by both.  Since then, Omar and Mike have teamed up on several complex commercial cases and federal criminal cases. It was only a matter of time before they joined forces as partners.
